Bob’s income is $45k a year and Mary’s income is $50k a year and neither Bob nor Mary own a home or have any savings or retirement accounts, then they might qualify for the reduced rate mediation.

Bob’s income is $45k a year and Mary’s income is $50k a year and neither Bob nor Mary own a home, but Bob has a retirement account. To determine if Bob and Mary might qualify for a reduced rate mediation, add Bob and Mary’s income plus the value of Bob’s retirement account.

Bob’s income is $45k a year and Mary’s income is $50k a year and Mary owns a home with $35k in equity, then Bob and Mary would not qualify for a reduced rate mediation even though their combined income is less than 100k annually because it is the value of their combined income and assets.
